How long does the grid connection approval process take?

Approval timelines vary by DNSP, system size and connection complexity. Most standard applications (under 1MW) take 4–10 weeks. Complex or larger systems (1MW+) typically require 8–16 weeks. GreenBox’s structured process and pre-submission reviews consistently achieve timelines faster than DNSP published standards.

What if the DNSP raises technical queries after submission?

Technical queries are a normal part of the DNSP process. GreenBox manages all DNSP correspondence on your behalf — preparing technical responses, revised settings, supplementary calculations and additional documentation as required. There is no additional charge for standard query management.

Do you supply the grid protection equipment as well as the application?

Yes. GreenBox manufactures grid protection boards and automatic transfer switch (ATS) equipment. Where your DNSP requires specific protection hardware, we can supply boards pre-configured to your approved settings — removing the complexity of sourcing compliant equipment separately.

What size systems do you handle?

GreenBox manages applications for systems from 30kW embedded generation up to utility-scale projects exceeding 30MW. Our process scales with your project — from simple rooftop C&I systems through to complex multi-inverter solar farms requiring full load flow studies and protection coordination.

Do you attend DNSP meetings or inspections on our behalf?

Yes. For complex applications, pre-application meetings with the DNSP are often beneficial. GreenBox can attend these meetings — in person or via teleconference — to represent your project and address technical questions directly with DNSP engineers. We also attend DNSP hold point inspections as required.
