- GB GATEWAY METER
Real-Time Energy Monitoring for Renewable Systems
The GB Gateway Meter provides accurate, real-time energy monitoring and data logging for solar, battery and grid systems.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Visibility Across Your Entire Energy System
The GB Gateway Meter is GreenBox’s smart monitoring solution for renewable energy systems. Providing real-time measurement of solar generation, battery state, grid import/export and load consumption — all accessible via a web dashboard or API integration.
Designed for commercial and industrial systems where accurate energy data is critical for compliance, billing and optimisation. Class 1 metering accuracy meets DNSP and energy procurement reporting thresholds.
Open Modbus and REST API connectivity means the GB Gateway integrates with any modern BMS, SCADA or energy management platform — without proprietary lock-in.

FAQ
Monitoring Questions
Have integration or compliance questions? Our technical team can advise on DNSP acceptance and platform integration.
How is the GB Gateway accessed remotely?
The GB Gateway connects to your site LAN via Ethernet. Remote access is provided via a web dashboard accessible from any browser — no dedicated software installation required. For sites without reliable internet, local access via the 4.3″ LCD and RS485 Modbus is available.
Can I access historical data and export reports?
Yes. The gateway logs data at configurable intervals (default 15 minutes) and stores up to 12 months of interval data locally. Historical data is exportable in CSV format from the web interface and is also available via the REST API for integration with reporting platforms.
What inverter brands are compatible via Modbus?
The GB Gateway includes pre-configured Modbus maps for Fronius, SMA, Sungrow, Huawei and GoodWe inverters. Custom Modbus mappings can be configured for other inverter brands. Contact our technical team to confirm compatibility with your inverter model.
Is the GB Gateway accepted by DNSPs for AS4777.3 monitoring?
The GB Gateway is configured to meet AS4777.3 monitoring and data reporting requirements and has been accepted by major DNSPs including Ausgrid and Energex for export management applications. DNSP acceptance is always subject to individual application review — contact us for project-specific guidance.
How is the gateway installed and commissioned?
Installation involves connecting voltage and current inputs to the circuits to be monitored, Ethernet connection to the site LAN, and a 240V AC power supply. Commissioning is completed via the web interface. GreenBox provides remote commissioning support as standard and on-site support as an optional service.
