Electrical Boards Built to Your Exact Specifications

When off-the-shelf doesn’t meet your project requirements — we design and manufacture custom electrical boards with full documentation and AS/NZS certification.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

From Brief to Delivery — Fully Managed

GreenBox Custom Boards are engineered and manufactured to your exact project specifications. From the circuit design to the enclosure selection, every custom board is built with AS/NZS compliance at its core — with a dedicated project engineer managing the process from brief to delivery.

We supply full engineering drawings, factory test reports, and compliance certificates with every unit. Suitable for any voltage level up to 415V AC on the LV side, with current ratings up to 2500A.

Enclosure options include powder-coated steel for indoor and controlled environments, or fibreglass reinforced polyester (GRP) for outdoor and corrosive applications — both available in IP ratings from IP31 to IP65.

OUR PROCESS

How We Build Your Board

01

Project Brief

Submit your technical requirements, load schedules and any DNSP or site conditions that apply to the board.

02

Engineering Design

Our engineers develop circuit layouts, single-line diagrams and protection coordination to AS/NZS 61439.

03

Quotation & Approval

Receive a detailed fixed-price quotation with lead time. Review and approve design drawings before manufacturing commences.

04

Manufacturing

Board fabricated at our Clayton South facility using specified components, with ongoing QA inspection throughout.

05

Factory Testing

Full factory acceptance test including insulation resistance, functional testing, relay verification and visual inspection.

06

Documentation & Delivery

Complete documentation package compiled and dispatched with the board — ready for site installation and commissioning.

KEY FEATURES

What Sets Our Custom Boards Apart

Fully Custom Design

From circuit layout to enclosure selection — every custom board is designed around your specific project requirements, not a standard template.

AS/NZS 61439 Certified

All custom boards are manufactured and tested to AS/NZS 61439 for low voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies.

Full Engineering Package

Every board is delivered with complete engineering drawings, protection coordination studies, single-line diagrams and compliance certificates.

Factory Tested Before Delivery

100% factory acceptance testing — including high-voltage insulation, functional testing and protection relay verification — before dispatch.

Steel & GRP Enclosures

Choice of powder-coated steel or fibreglass reinforced polyester (GRP) enclosures to suit indoor, outdoor and corrosive environment installations.

Project Management Included

A dedicated GreenBox project engineer manages your board from brief through to delivery — keeping your project timeline on track.

APPLICATIONS

Across Every Electrical Application

Our custom board capability covers the full range of LV electrical applications in renewable energy, commercial, industrial and utility sectors.

Grid Connection Switchboards

Custom protection and metering switchboards for solar farm and battery storage grid connection points — meeting specific DNSP technical requirements.

Main Distribution Boards

Large main switchboards for commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments — designed to AS/NZS 61439 with coordinated protection.

Motor Control Centres

Custom MCCs for industrial pump, fan and conveyor applications — incorporating soft starters, VFDs and SCADA integration.

Battery Storage Integration

DC and AC switchboards for BESS integration at commercial and utility scale — coordinated with inverter and protection system requirements.

HV/LV Substations

LVDB and secondary distribution boards for HV/LV transformer substations at solar farms, industrial sites and utility connections.

FAQ

Custom Board Questions

Ready to discuss your project requirements? Our engineering team will respond within one business day.
Is there a minimum order quantity for custom boards?
No minimum quantity applies. We manufacture single bespoke units through to large production runs. Our quoting and engineering process is the same regardless of quantity — each unit receives full documentation and factory testing.
Standard custom boards typically require 4–8 weeks from design approval to delivery. Complex switchboards, motor control centres or boards with long-lead components may require additional time. We provide a confirmed lead time with each quotation.
Minor changes (label amendments, additional accessories) can usually be accommodated during manufacturing. Significant changes to circuit design or enclosure configuration after approval may impact lead time and cost — your project engineer will advise case by case.
Every custom board is delivered with a full engineering package: stamped single-line diagrams, wiring schedules, component datasheets, factory acceptance test report, AS/NZS 61439 form of separation declaration, and an operations and maintenance manual.
Yes. For boards forming part of a grid connection application, we prepare the technical documentation required for DNSP submission and can liaise directly with the network on technical matters. This is included in the project management service.
We offer on-site commissioning support for complex switchboards and MCCs as an additional service. Our engineers can perform primary injection testing, protection relay commissioning and witness testing on behalf of the owner or asset manager.
